Cairngorm 100

Has anyone out there done the Cairngorm 100 sportive? I'm looking for a bit of guidance on appropriate clothing.

I've done a lot of sportives over the years but it looks a bit bleak up there, even in June.

Please tell me that wasn't last weekend...!?

...and that it was in fact a picture from a recent climbing experience in Nepal.

I was trying to establish wether or not to wear leg and arm-warmers....?

Arm warmers and a gilet should be fine. No need for leg warmers. 3/4 lengths or knee warmers might be an idea. It'll be a bit nippy up at the ski centre first thing in the morning but I wouldn't let that dictate your attire for the rest of the ride.
Scottish and British...and a bit French

    Cheers mate.

Arm warmers and gilet it is. With a packable water-proof jacket in the back pocket.

    Sorted.

I did this a few years ago and the issue was definitely the cold at the start - a very uncomfortable first descent! Things were fine after that.

In that case I'm taking my flask up with me.

Hot orange before the start and not budging from the car until the last possible minute.

And a liberal application of some warming oil.

    Cheers for the feedback.
