Has anyone purchased one of these frames the price seems too good to be true. Has anyone had anything to do with on-one, Is it really a genuine bargain.

I have four on ones including a pompino.

Fabulous bikes, the pompino is a real chameleon of a bike depending on how you kit it out, Personally I'm riding one that is a little small for me, with a short stem and a massive saddle-bars drop. They're hilarious fun with a short stem as you can toss them around like a mtb.

+1 for Pompinos - I would have bought one (and am considering one as a spare [n+1]), but went for the Fixie Inc.

I am thinking of using a 8 spd internal gear hub, singe chainset on the front, maybe a disc brake on the front, some mavic 313 rims, brookes b17 saddle. I just need to make my mind up about the handle bars any suggestion would be welcome cheers.

As above, my Pompino is great fun and I can totally recommend buying one. Very nimble, comfy and robust. Great for commuting on.

Note that if you are building up from scratch (which is very rewarding) it might end up costing quite a bit more than if you buy one of their ready built models.

On One are great to deal with. In addition to the Pomp, I have also built up a geared Inbred for the missus. In both cases, when I had questions (cable routing and chainset compatability) they were super helpful on the phone and on email.

In short, no it is not too good to be true. Go buy :D

Nerd question - the Pompetamine Versa 8-sp is on my list for next bike purchase. Does anyone know how the 4130 cr-mo steel compares to Reynolds/Columbus tubing eg is it like Reynolds 520 in composition? These things are important...

All I have left due to space limitations is my pompino. I love the comfort of this bike. I have it set up as single speed at the moment but looking into geared options. I am intending to use my one one single spped most of the time and geared for touring. I was going to buy the Surly's frame originally and I am glad I chose its cheaper cousin. Excellent choice.

For bars I bought Ergotec bars from practical cycles.

Yep, Pompinos are great! I bought a frame a few years ago and built it up into a single speeder. Weighs under 8kg, lovely ride quality and easy to maintain. I'm also doing LEJOG on it in September!

    Go for it!
