Bike Set up

I need some advice if anyone can help.
I have recently purchased my first road bike and have used it a couple of times covering distance of 10 - 25 miles.
I am finding that it hurts my neck when i lean forward and look up and after 12 miles of this its giving me a head ache.
How should I have the bike set up with the seat and handlebars. The frame size of the bike is the correct one for my height and I think the saddle is correct as my legs are just short of being fully stretched when peddaling. Is it just the handle bars that need correcting as currently I look and feel like Gollum with a headache when I ride .

Any chance of a pic of you on the bike?
There are a few good guides for bike setup (I will dig around and see if I can find a few or maybe someone has something to hand?).
Also, how do you ride? Most of us (particularly the recreational riders) will have hands on the hoods/bar for 95% of the time and only going to the drops to get aero for descents or stomping it to catch someone up (obviously, the trick is to go back on the hoods and try to look composed when passing; catching your breath and spitting out little lumps of sick is best done out of sight of the target too ).0
