Hi all
Just to say I've just joined BikeRadar and am really looking forward to spending some time on the forum planning my ultimate commuter purchase!
My commute is 4 miles and pretty flat. Current old commuter is a Claud Butler 1991 MTB with slicks and straps, and I'm currently considering the Genesis Day 01 Alfine on C2W (when the scheme opens again). Test ride tomorrow lunchtime...

Welcome
You'll not go too far wrong with a Day 01 Alfine certainly. Enough room for racks, mudguards etc, low maintenance, can shift in the right hands [legs].0 -
Welcome to the nuthouse!FCN 5 belt driven fixie for city bits
CAADX 105 beastie for bumpy bits

As in they started too low and finished too low or not wide enough?
If it was all just a bit low then you could get a smaller sprocket or bigger chainring?0
