It is with great sadness that I would like to inform you of the tragic and very recent passing of Xavier Tondo. He was an extraordinary cyclist with a large palmares and natural climbing ability. This year he was on team Movistar whilst in previous years he was with Cervelo Test Team. After Wouter Waylandt's tragic death, it seems unjust that another rider should die, especially in these circumstances. It is reported that his garage door fell on him whilst he was about to go for a ride, in a freak domestic accident. Lets all band behind Xavier Tondo and his family, by making tributes on this post. May he rest in peace.

    Really sad about this.
Thought he was going to have a great year/good TdF.
He was a top climber who had some morales about the sport too.
