Mountain stages in both Italy and California
The deep/40mm carbon rims have disappeared
They are mostly climbing on standard depth rims.
What are the popular wheels?

Well in mountain stages weight becomes the big factor over aero.

They will be riding something like Zipp 202's or whatever wheels they ride.

For the GC guys and climbers.. a lot of them will be on very very expensive super-light wheels... shallow rim profile, low spoke count tubulars. We are talking about 800-1000g a pair. They'll also ride a heavier frame to get the weight off the moving parts to still keep it on the 6.8kg weight limit.

    wheels like - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/campagnolo-hype ... -wheelset/

the domestiques and general powerhouse riders will still be riding bigger, heavier deep rims as their jobs are to get the climbers to the bottom of the hill as fast as possible.

Noticed mavic riders using the new R-Sys wheels. All carbon weight is around 1000g I believe.
