Got a new chainset installed on April 30th apox and i think i correct in saying that i need to re-tighten the non-drive side crank arm pinch bolts again ?

Is this correct and if so how much should i re-tighten non torque wise, as i dont have torque wrench at hand just want to know apox how much to re-righten the pinch bolts.

pictures included.

why do you think you need to tighten them?

Like i said in post i thought you supposed to re-tighten the pinch bolts after a few rides/weeks after the chainset was installed.

also from the picture 1 it does show a gap which i can move the plastic plate within it.

Is this wrong then about needing to re-tighten the pinch bolts after installing a new chainset then?

just not 100% if non drive side might come loose ect.

yes there should be a gap. yes the plastic bit can be lose.

yes it is advised that you re torque the bolts. but you need a torque wrench for that.

but if they have not loosened then they dont need tightening. but you can not know that without a torque wrench.

so there is no answer to your question.

re torquing is not the same as re-tightening.

By gap, I'm assuming you mean the end of the crank where the pinch bolts are. Tighten that up so there is no gap and you will end up with stripped cranks and/or pinch bolts.
The plastic plate is loose, it just fits in a hole in the axle and needs to be lifted if you want to take the crank arm off.

ok so bassically there is no point doing anything unless have a torque wrench

Is there any way i can check or tight tthat would let me knof they might need to be re-torqued by the LBS then?

I use 'finger' torque. Without straining:
    Tiny bolts, use one finger.
    Bigger bolts, use 4 fingers.
    Bigger bolts use hand.
    Bigger bolts use wrist.
    Bigger bolts use forearm.
    Big mother bolts use arm.
Big mother****** bolts use body weight.

Never stripped one or had anything come loose.

But it is a judgement call.

Those I would use 4 fingers.
