The t-shirt benefit fund has been cropping up over other parts of the Intrweb... but I've not see it here, so.....

With claims that 60%-75% will go directly to fund.
The shipping costs are higher than they need to be, but a few folks and I made a collective order to keep it in check

Really?
As far as I can see, the makers aren't making anything from the shirt. Bar costs for the t-shirt, printing, the rest of the money is going towards the fund.
Not much wrong with that.0 -

I read it as him not referring to the company and what it is doing but about recognising WW's death on a t-shirt you wear often, but I could be wrong. I can see where he is coming from if so.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Ah well, just goes to prove that people see things from different perspectives.
Apologies in advance if he meant as you referred to.0 -
Road ID are also selling their wristbands in memory of Wouter Weylandt that the ToC riders wear. 100% of proceeds go to the family, and the idea for the wristband came from Andy Schleck & Leopard Trek.

I just can't see what a random company gets out of it ... Let's be honest, up until he died WW wasn't ever top of anyones favourite cyclist list ... So why would this company, or let's be honest any of you give a sh!t ...
WW's story isn't a nice one and I feel for his family as much as I can for a random guy off the telly ... I'll admit that even if they don't make a penny off of the t-shirts, how many other hits and sales (esp. With the high postage making it a better deal to buy something else) will they get ... It's no better than Livestrong's 2 websites ...
After all ... Tnere is no such thing as a selfless act ... If there trully was you wouldn't have been able to read about it on the net ...0 -
Nasty attitude there crankbrother. No true cycling fan wants to see a rider killed in a race. True he wasnt one of the star riders - but you cant run a race off the back of having ten well known cyclists. We all need these team riders, and even the big names were once relative unknowns.0

I was very familiar with him and have cheered him on when he was at QS - and was interested to see what he could do (or not) at Leopard.
Watched plenty of interviews with him on Sporza - many more interviews than from any Brit rider.

a young sportsman, in the prime of his life and about to start a family, dies taking part in an event for our enjoyment and entertainment... I think thats inherently tragic and all the more so as I was watching live and saw it all unfold. Thats why I jumped on the chance to order a t-shirt and make a contribution and remember him.Your Past is Not Your Potential...0
