Cycle computer or GPS

Do I really need a GPS???
I ride pretty much every day but have no means of seeing my speed or distance whilst riding.
I like the idea of a GPS but I can get a wireless computer and some 105 pedals for the price of a forerunner
Are GPS just expensive toys? Will a good wireless computer suffice?
If so which one is best?
Cateye strada, VDO A8+ etc

Depends, if you don't plan on doing long distance or touring rides then i'd save your money. I currently use a boardman wireless computer, works great, has everything i need including a cadence sensor, got it for 30 quid.Cannondale SS Evo Team

depends on what you want it to do
gps, great bits of kit
but a bike computer is cheap and pretty much fit and forget, there is no need to keep charging batteries etc0
