Hi guys!

I'm in a bit of a dillema! I'm thinking about transitioning from my current rigid to a full susser. I'm aiming to do longuish distances and xc, so I'd like something light and confortable, quick on the climbs and safe on the descents. :)

Cruizing around a few LBS I was given the following options, wich one would you choose and why? Thank you!

1- Specialized Epic Expert 2010 Aluminium (New - 2500€)

I love my epic. Needed some tweaking to get how I wanted.

You'll not go far wrong with either the epic or anthem.

Funny you mention the Anthem, because one of the deals was also a Giant Anthem 1 for 2000€. I think it's a 2010 or 2009 model, didn't pay much attention because it's looks weren't very "catchy". Btw, that carbon epic looks very very nice! wonder if they ship to portugal... :)

what you have pictured there is a pree 2009 style anthem 09,10 and 11 bikes are anthem x's (very different bike). I ride a 2010 anthem x2 (personally i believe this was the best anthem ever made but not ridden an 11 bike yet) 2000 euros seems a lot for a second hand anthem they sell on ebay uk for between 1100 and 1400 for 2010 x2's depending on condition. I actually prefer the fox fork on the x2 to the sid on the x1 and there is absolutely no need for a fox rp23 on a suspension platform as good as the anthems granted the xt wheels on the x1 are nice but not much better than the slx/317's on the x2.

Search out a 2010 anthem x2 for about 1400 euros stick a fizik gobi xm saddle on it and you have the ultimate marathon/race/trail bike

TREK fuel EX9. Love mine and my riding sounds the same as yours! Very quick on climbs and comfy.
