I have a Topeak Joe Blow Max II which I'm not too impressed with - the gauge isnt too accurate.

Any suggestions for a replacement at a similar price??

    I bought the £5 track pump @ Aldi last week-ish & it's been great up to 180PSI.
Maybe they have a few still knocking about?

I used to have one of these. When I got a proper track pump I then realised I'd been under-inflating my tyres by 10-20psi.

How do you know the Joe Blows isn't accurate?

I think the JB is an excellent pump.

I bought one last week too, as a spare, and its complete cack. It can scarcely manage 80psi, let alone 180psi. Hopeless for the road bike. Maybe mine is just particularly duff, but the construction doesn't inspire confidence. Probably expecting too much for £5, it would be ok for an MTB.

I have a blackwood one I bought at the London Bike Show (load of cack) and its been fine. Only downside is that the gauge is at the bottom by the footplate.

I paid £25 at the show.

Plus 1. I noticed that Evans use them on their Ride it Sportives and Spa cycles seem to stock nothing else. I think that says a lot.

    +1

The JB II is an excellent pump, it's the one I have and the one my LBS leave out for people to use, never heard of any issues with it.

OP, how do you know the gauge is inaccurate?

Maybe my neighbours pump is out then! I compared the gauges on both and he insisted his was accurate. Mine was showing 10psi less than his was.

I have no problems with mine - think it is a great pump for the price.

I am unsure why anyone would want to pump their tyres up to 180 psi but each to their own.

Bontrager Charger gets my vote. I run my tyres at 120psi because I am a bit of a fatty and it gets them there with absolutely no problem.

    Seems quick and accurate.

I use it for my BMX, Kevlar tyres go up to a max of 210PSI!
