i have my 1st encounter with a rear maxle, just puzzled a bit by what i have found. it appears to be a 12x135mm according to the rockshox lever but when its undone i have a 12mm bolt through and a 9mm qr going through a bolt through drop out. is this how a rear maxle works? pics below

when its removed i have 2 pieces, a 12mm hollow bolt going through the dropouts which also has a 9mm qr going through it, the drop outs are bolt through, i am guessing its been custom made as i was under the impression it would be the same as my front 20mm maxle on my pike forks

well instead of the Qr pulling on the end of the axle it could pull on the frame putting stress on the frame threads. you have the pain of undoing the "nut" every time which you should not have to do.

talk to your local Sram dealer about getting one in from Fishers.

Haha, that tickled me that the only part you WANTED to show was out of shot by a couple of pixels
