I was wondering if anyone has signed up for this fun charity event?
I did it 2 years ago shortly after taking up cycling and while it is 67 miles, it's a fun event and the route is fairly straightforward.
You can ride it without sponsorship and it is £10 to enter - there are usually a couple of thousand entrants of all abilities. It's been running for over 30 years and is pretty well supported.
If you haven't done it before and looking for a fun day on the bike, why not give it a go?

Me struggling up Mont Ventoux for the first time! Done it 3 times since (each way up) without stopping. This seems like a lifetime ago! http://img208.imageshack.us/i/snapshot2 ... 45552.tif/

Details of the route should be in this link - http://www.leprahealthinaction.org/edin ... ycle-ride/Me struggling up Mont Ventoux for the first time! Done it 3 times since (each way up) without stopping. This seems like a lifetime ago! http://img208.imageshack.us/i/snapshot2 ... 45552.tif/0 -
It is a tough one. Not in terms of the route but whether to go out and try and set a good time, or take it more relaxed and stop for the cakes at Freuchie and the ice cream van giving out free ice cream at the top of the biggest hill!0

I wont be able to do it this year due to the injury but I'm going to mention it to my mates. I always meant to ride it back in my 'youth' when I was road bike mad and living in St Andrews. Deffo next year.0

SuzyB - it would be a good event to get your distance up and build your confidence after the EC. 8)Me struggling up Mont Ventoux for the first time! Done it 3 times since (each way up) without stopping. This seems like a lifetime ago! http://img208.imageshack.us/i/snapshot2 ... 45552.tif/0 -

Yep,I'll be doing this for the first time and it's ideal for me as when I get to St.Andrews I only have to turn round and pedal another 15 miles and I'm home.0

It's gonna be a wet one! hope you all enjoy this, I did tour round Fife last weekend 105miles in total and was literally frozen to the bone. Don't undestimate it and think about rain tyres. that said it is a nice route.0

Have fun folks! Great route - will try to catch a few of you at the pavillion at the end0

Pretty horrible day on the weather front, made it quite a tough ride this year.
Had planned not to stop but having climbed Cleish hill in driving wind and rain, decided to take in the warm tea and food on offer at Kinross town hall - well down to the Kinross Rotary Club for organising this stop.
I had a puncture after about 45 miles and had the joy of changing that in the rain - only after it was done, when i went to put my gloves back on did i realise there had been a stream running down the road where i placed my gloves! Mmm lovely!
Rounded off the day when we got back to Edinburgh and one of my mates had to swerve to avoid a bus on Princes Street and was forced into the tram lines - his wheel got caught in the tramlines and he was sent flying. Thankfully only numerous cuts and bruises.
I have had better days on the bike for sure.Me struggling up Mont Ventoux for the first time! Done it 3 times since (each way up) without stopping. This seems like a lifetime ago! http://img208.imageshack.us/i/snapshot2 ... 45552.tif/0
