Going for my first Alps trip in July near Tignes.

Riding is all downhill but old trails rather than full on downhill tracks. Advise wanted on suggestions of riding gear and spares to take. Only going for 5 days.

Main decision is whether to invest in a full face helmet or not and whether to ride flats or my usual mallets..?

any advice welcome.

As well as the flats consider a shorter stem, 180mm discs as a minimum and some DH tyres, arm & leg protection are a must as are some spare brake pads. If you are flying with your bike pack it carefully & remove the discs from the wheels. I didn’t bother with a full face but despite 3 off I never face planted.
