Hi Guys,
Just after a few opinions, new to MTB'ing so am after a bike. Haven't got a clue on what brands are good, other than I like the look of Cube bikes, so am slightly familiar with their models
But my local LBS sells Specialized and Trek, and I'd like to maybe buy from them(they can set it up for me, and I can get back to them re repairs etc etc).
So which models from those two manufacturers would suit me. Ill be doing mainly road/street riding intially but looking to get into Off-roading more in the future, so need something that can do both.
Budget is £850, can go bit higher if needed.
Cheers!

The Specialized Rockhopper is a classic cross country/trail bike with a good selection of components. Take a look at the Comp model:

Specialized Rockhopper springs to mind in that price range, probably be able to get something with Toras/Recons up front and at least part SLX drivetrain, think the Trek 6000/6300 are around that price mark too. Both bikes from 2 of the biggest manufacturers out there. Maybe see if you can demo a couple of bikes from them?

Quick even for me that post ;-)0
