Bedding my brakes in??

Hi all,

Prob a real stupid question but how do I bed my brakes in as I've had my bike for a week now and the disc brakes r making a horrible schreech when I use them.

    how ever the manual for your brakes says to do it.

    normally a certain number of hard applications.

    your brakes are?

    Hey,

    My brakes are tektro, the manual doesn't say anything about bedding them in!

    nicklouse, do you mean hard applications as in hard braking several times? i have a new cube Ltd comp and the brakes are awesome, but are still very sharp. does this mean mine need bedding in?

    ok cool thanks. hopefully the fact that my brakes are shimano means that they will stay really good after being bedded in!
