I stupidly chopped my chain using "Big Big", completely forgetting to take into account chain growth, when suspension at full travel.
So now I have this:
No travel:

full travel:

I realise that the chain is too short, so can I a couple of links using Power links to join, or is the chain now scrap for this bike?

Chain is FSA team issue (bargain from CRC :) )

cheers

Cheers Nick, Keeping you busy tonight LOL!

I'll maybe add a couple, but buy a new any way. I think I've only 5 or so sapre links from the chain anyway? Do you think that will be enough?

fully compress the shock. remove air/coil or just remove the shock and move the arm the correct amount and see.

Or compress as far as you can and add a bit to the chain considering there will be a 12mm bump stop that could also compress in a big bump.

    cool.
What is the max extension of the cage at full travel, and big/big rings?
Not that I would ever use big/big!

Yeh, I know, but just as guide when the chain is thru the mech. clearly the mech isd stretched to capacity now, but what angle should the mech be at with a correctly sized chain

you will know as you will not get it into or out of the gear. you will feel it on your thumb.

as it is it is too flat. it would not shift out of that gear.
