You sound like one of those "worried mums" on the Dettol adverts whose child eats something that hasn't come out of a plastic, heat-sealed sachet  Think on - every litre of water you drink contains molecules pissed out by Einstein - and billions of others!

How many people could have tried on new shorts and then sent them back, before someone decides to keeps them?

I saw the heading Lyca and not Lycra shorts and assumed you had knocked the Rs out of them that's why you didn't want them anymore

Which reminds me. I have black hair.

I bought some shorts from Aldi once, tried them on on top of my boxers. They were too big. When I took them off I noticed a blonde pubic hair stuck to the chamois pad.

The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.
  • I have thought about buying used gear before (beit shorts, gloves, bibs, jerseys, etc). I am a bigger guy and looking to loose some weight and am finding success. I imagine that others have been in this same situation and if I can find someone just ahead of me in the process I could have all his 'hand-me-downs'.

The thought of wearing another man's cycling shorts, a larger sweatier man's mind you, is kind of off putting. It would greatly reduce my costs though... Where do you draw the line? Wouldn't a good laundering and some direct sunlight just about kill anything and everything off?

Have no problem with second hand clothes had some bargains and you know if they're manky. Draw the line at lycra though especially shorts. Ok with jackets though.
