Olympic tickets

Have you been informed you haven't been successful?
They will be taking money up to June 10th.
They announced this morning that all people who were allocated should have been debited last night (sucks for those who got paid this morning!)
Originally June 10th was the cut off, but it doesn't seem so now. Prehaps June 10th will be the cut off for those who didn't have the funds and now have the "special window" to buy less popular ones.0 -

Unfortunately due to the ridiculously crap system we won't know what we've been allocated till the 24th June (according to 2012 website), 3 weeks after the money has been taken. How hard can it be to have sent an e-mail to you when the tickets have been allocated saying that you have been allocated x tickets and that your account will be debited x amount.
Pretty grumpy, considering you got something, it seems quite a few people didn’t get anything at all. Although I agree it would be nice to know what you were going to.0 -
What was shown on the bank statements for those that got them?"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0

I'm pleased about getting tickets of course. I just don't like seeing things on my bank statement that i'm not 100% sure what they are. Now would be a perfect time for somebody to fraudulently use the credit card details they got from my Playstation Network account, call themselves something like "London Tickets" and anybody who had applied for Olympics tickets would assume that it was a legitimate transaction and ignore it, until they realise it's not and it's too late.
I've no problem with the ballot system as it seems the fairest way, but the lack of information is really poor."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
my wife says we could have bought the tickets from other countries' websites just like buying a torch from dealextreme.
Unfortunately it is a bit late to be told this.
Anyone fancy watching men's beach volleyball with a german ticket?
She said she was looking at the booking site last night.

I had a look at the German site (my better half is German so suggested it as a possibility this morning before either of us knew it actually was an option)...
Mens beach volleyball and womens football. Erm, no thanks, at the risk of sounding sexist; womens football is terrible.Ben

Not checked today, but don't think I got anything. Stupidly, I only applied for the event I'm interested in
I'm not too bothered though, I mean just cos I'm 'really into cycling' doesn't mean I should get the nod ahead of anyone else. It's the Olympics, sport for all, and all that. Besides, the money I would have spent on 21/2 hours in the velodrome can be spent on a weekend at the Ghent 6 day instead.0 -

Oh dear - like many others I recently got scammed after ordering from CRC.
Myself and my wife both applied for tickets, but using her card, there are 2 deductions of £196 from WWW.TICKETS.LONDON LONDON WC2H . Seems very co-incidental it is the exact same amount as the original poster.
Guess we must wait to find out if it is all legit, but I am now suspicioius.0 -

I found out about this a couple of weeks ago but it was too late by then. I'm really h**ked off that London 2012 organisers told a nation that they had to be part of the lottery, when all the time any citizen of a European union country could go to any accredited agency across Europe and legally buy any ticket they wanted.
Fuming
This is yet another farce thaty has me questioning why I should carry on living in this country.

I did wonder this many months ago when the application process was being talked about on the radio but I was too busy (and too lazy perhaps) to look into this and now I know. Who'd have thought it eh, another farce.0 -
First thing to say - congratulations to everyone who has got tickets.
Now for the bile - 6th June 2005 and Jacques Rogge says one word 'London'. I have to admit that I was choked. Never did I imasgine that the Olympics would poll up in the UK during my lifetime - Whatever your opinion of Seb Coe, Ken Livinstone, Tony Blair and Becks they did a great job.
So why are we all so upset - for my part it is down chosing 20 sessions and 13 different sports followed by two weeks of anxious online monitoring of my credit card which culminated this morning in the crushing realisation that my credit card balance was uncahnged. I didn't expect much, I would have been happy with any of the sessions I applied for but right now I can only say I am gutted for myself and family but also to everyone else who has lost out.
If it's true that international ticket applicants didn't go into a ballet or had access to tickets directly, than that really is the 'icing on the cake'. If it's true that the British public were not on a level playing field then Seb Coe should hang his head.
So now it's first choice of the tickets nobody wanted - sorry but handball and hockey don't do it for me. At least some of the cycling is out on the open road unless they come up with a scheme for charging to watch on Box Hill.[/code]0 -

6th July, not 6th June - was the day before the bombings!
I was (and still am) fully behind the Olympics - even agreed with the ticketing method they used. But after my partner and I applying for 20 tickets each - doubling some applications up and receiving absolutely nothing - not so happy now.
Can accept not getting opening and closing and some athletics - but really annoyed we didn't get the MTB - you could not choose a price band for the MTB, so I assumed that would mean that there was no way that would be over subscribed - with 20,000 allowed in each day I wonder where those tickets have gone.
I like you will be heading down to Box Hill for the road cycling - will just have to put up with seeing the Olympic stadium and Velodrome every day on the way to work!0 -
Thanks for the correction on the date - slip of the 'pen' in the mist of disappointment.
I share your sentiments though about the mountain biking and other 'large' spectator events. I picked MTB, triathlon, canoeing, eventing and marathon swimming amongst my selection thinking one of them should come off. Anyhow, like you I am still supporting the Games and I sincerely hope that we actually manage to put on a hell of a show.0 -
Applied for loads and money has been taken out the account and it is probably the BMX final judging by the amount. Looking forward to see that but sort of annoyed at the expense of a trip and accomodation just for that one event - if the road race had been near it then it would have made for a good trip but one is near the start of the games and the other near the end so looks like i'll miss out on the road race0

Help, I think I have 'special' powers. In a post I put on yesterday, in which I bemoaned my lack (complete) of Olympic tickets I suggested that I could at least console myself in the fact that I could watch the road race on Box Hill 'unless they 'the powers that be' find a way to charge for that as well'.
Well, I just picked up this weeks edition of 'The Comic' and guess what's top story - large sections of Box Hill to be fenced off and the number of spectators to be limited (potentially) because of concerns about damage to the environment. I applaud the concern for the local habitat but bloody hell did they think just a couple of dozen die hards were going to turn up to watch 200 hundred of the worlds best cyclists ride up Box Hill nine times!0 -
only person i know to get any olympic tickets is somebody who works for the government in a dept not dissimilar to the one organising the games. weird that innit.
makes the olympic levy as a host borough resident , and london council tax payer grate a bit.Veni Vidi cyclo I came I saw I cycled0
