Looking to by a bike for some longer distance work, so I'm thinking a sportive type bike would be ideal.

Problem is there are so many out there I can't make head or tail of it all.

What makes/models are getting good reviews? Max price upto £1500.

why not look at the Van Nicholas Mistral. For that money Fat Birds will do a custom build and you may be able to get full Ultegra. My 105 Build was £1350 last September.

I've had my Sportive Bianco now for a week, but only been out on it twice; so far, so good.

m8 have a look at the Wilier range and stick some Vittoria Open Pave Evo CG Tyres on, along with a good saddle, (Fiziks Alliante for me), I was amazed at the comfort level compared to other rides I have used:

but again it's just an opinion! then again I can push a 100 miles without an ache

Ribble Sportive, New Sportive & Gran Fondo have all got great reviews.

A special edition with any of the above with Sram Apex, upgraded ITM wheels + separately bought folding tyres will be a similar price to a standard Shimano 105 build and over 1lb lighter.

Van Nicholas or Sabbath from Fat Birds in Norfolk.

If I were you I'd go to my local Evans and have a look at the Felt Z6 - Wiggle are offering it for £1080 and Evans have a price matching policy. Great value and it gives you plenty to spend on accessories or even upgraded wheels.
