For those of you who haven't read in the Wiggle thread, I am doing the great north swim. I'm doing it for a truly inspirational charity called Destination Florida. Here's my little statement:

"Destination Florida is a small Northern based charity which specialises in bringing a bit of sunshine into the lives of children who are suffering from life threatening illnesses. Every 2 years we take a group of about 75 children to Florida literally for the holiday of a lifetime. Each trip is meticulously planned and involves taking a large support team consisting of doctors, nurses and other carers. Whilst we are in Florida the parents and siblings of the children will hopefully be enjoying a week’s respite at home. The benefit of this can never be underestimated."
In October 2010 I went on the trip of a lifetime helping look after a group of amazing kids have the best care free holiday ever! The trip was the best nine days of my life, not only were the kids amazing but all the other helpers and people working for the charity. The kids can forget about their illnesses, be like any other child and meanwhile the parents get a well deserved nine days of respite!
So to give back and say thank you I'm going to do the Great North Swim, which is a mile swim around Windermere.

So yes, now I'm going to be cheeky, if anyone wants to sponsor me with any spare money every little helps.

And thank you to those who've already done so.

And for those that don't like this sort of thing, I apologise.

That is all. :D

In October 2010 I went on holiday and had the time of my life drinking with a group of underaged kids paid for by members of the public! The trip was the best nine days of my life, not only were the kids amazing but all the other helpers and people working for underaged alcoholics anonymous. The kids can forget about their one night stands, be like any other child and meanwhile the parents get a well deserved nine days of respite!
So to give back and say thank you I'm going to do the Great North pub crawl, which covers most of Newcastle, Glasgow, and Inverness.

How does being in Florida make the children forget their illnesses? Are they really that dense?

Stop being a cynical ars* Chris.

It takes their minds off it, and they can do all the things they normally can't do because of their illness.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to take them metaphorically?
