Any good routes or group rides around St Austell?

I'm off on holiday next week to Cornwall, staying in Polmassick, and taking the bike along as there's only 6 weeks worth of training left before La Marmotte and really didn't want to take a week off.

I've been looking at the map of the area and I'm sure there's some quality riding to be had around there, but does anyone have any local knowledge of places to go/or to avoid? Or even better, are there any group rides heading out from around that area that i could join in with?

Thanks for all and any comments. I hope the English weather behaves when we're there!

There's lots of good riding to be had as i'm sure you're aware. I'm based fairly near st.austell and i tend to ride down around the south coast (lerryn, looe etc).

Depends what sort of mileage you're hoping to do per day? I can give you a few routes of around 25-35miles - or tag a few together to make up a bigger distance. I'm always keen to get out so if you want a riding buddy let me know :)

cheers for the response. As i'm there with the wife and daughter i won't be looking to be going out for hours and hours so rides of that kind of length would be great.

Would love to hook up with a local to save my map reading too :) we're there from sunday night till friday night and am hoping to get out most if not all of the days. Time of day I think would normally be earlyish morning, but i'm sure i could swing a couple of evening rides if that fits better?

Nice and lumpy around Polmassick. Head onto the Roseland peninsula there's loads of testing lanes and stunning coastal riding.
