I am getting really fed up

Its supposed to be summer for goodness sake. Cycling conditions have been lacklustre , windy and rainy for the past week and this one aint set to improve. Whatever happened to nice dry summers in the uk , if we have another washout summer like the last two, I will go out of my mind.

Best weather I can remember in a long time in Hertfordshire.

Trails dry and dusty, although tis a bit windy.

Sunburn has been more of an issue ......

Yeah it sucks. But we did have nice weather not that long ago and it's certainly better than last year when we still had snow in May.

Seriously?, we haven't had any rain for TWO MONTHS!!!!, and some pretty epic weeks of sunshine over the last month or so.

It's been pretty windy for a while, but other than that, I really don't think we have too much to complain about, May is always a bit hit and miss and the best of times

This is why you should have a girlfriend who has a family home in Italy and whose father loves cycling

But we have only had one day of heavy rain, had a few showers though

Here in Bury it's rained pretty much non-stop for at least a week.

Apparently from this weekend the UK is meant to get two weeks of heatwave conditions.

The rain will keep you cool and your chest hair will act as a wind breaker

Yeah seems like more than a week of wet weather. Can't complain though April was a cracking bit of weather, I just hope your latter statement is true! 8)

Just a wee weather update, we had snow up here last night! Down to about 2200 feet. I had a pedal to the top car park on Cairngorm last night (2100 feet) and it was fine, just shows how fast the weather can change:

But OP - I don't get it, have you forgotten all about the recent sunny weather? Fair enough lately it has not been too sunny and has been fairly windy in the NE at least, but come on, this is the UK, not a country where you have normal weather.

mmm, weather for Sunday predicted to be 25mph wind with 45 mph gusts. I was planning to do the Wheels 100 sportive but I am now having serious second thoughts.

I wouldn't normally plan to ride in that kind of wind (in particular the gusts which are at a bloody dangerous level) but I have been looking forward to the ride for sometime and even spent the week avoiding long rides in prep...decisions, decisions...

Just wind around here and i'm sick of it, rain I can cope with, in fact i like a bit of rain but this wind is starting to grind me down.
The wife's off at the mo due to the arrival of our baby boy so i've never had so much time to get out on the bike, but i'm just not enjoying it with all of this wind, I just hope that it won't continue until September!

Woke up to glorious weather this morning - we put all the washing out on the line at 0700hrs, bathed in warm sunlight and a beautiful blue sky.

Came back at lunch, heavy rain, cloudy, visibility down to 200 metres, everything sodden, cold and miserable.

Why is it so English weather?! Why are you so fickle??!!

Rain - I've forgotten what that is - almost 3 months without any useful rain, and the grass is brown!

Wind is another matter though, haven't had a still day for ages. And it's always seems to be a head wind, no matter which way I turn!

And more to come - the forecast round here:

    Sat - gusting to 27mph
    Sun - gusting to 44mph
    Mon - gusting to 37mph
    Tues - gusting to 24mph.

I know I should MTFU, but it grinds you down after a while - we've had only one or two stillish days since 'the summer' in April.

Was very windy and overcast earlier - it is now 20o - dunno where the degree button is!

Calm, no wind and very sunny.

South coast. It was forecast sun and calm and has only really got like that since 6pm

Yeah I seen the weather forecast yesterday and when it predicted a week of big winds I let out a depressing sigh to which the wife couldn't understand why.
