Hey guys,

ive had my shimano m520s for about a month and absolutely love them. im was looking at replacing the shoe cleats, well at least having a spare set at home just incase the worse happens and one gets damaged.

have i missed something or are the cleats themselves the same price as getting brand new pedals with cleats included? m520s cost 19.99, cleats 17.99... do you guys just buy the whole pedal set again and then get shot of them?

ari

I assume you're getting the pedals at a discounted/clearance rate though, are you? So not a usual price compared to normal.

yup they are on sale, for 19.99 in most places at the moment... have been that way for well over a month though.

they tend to discount the entry level pedals heavily, as they know they'll recover costs via cleats.

my Keo pedals were £20 inc. cleats, cost £17.50 for new cleats...

I have never damaged an SPD cleat in many years of on and off road riding, they do wear out eventually though (takes a long time) so you may keep the spares for many years before needing them!

You can probably get them for nearer £12 on eBay.

They are OEM ones, not on a header card.

I got some from them about two weeks ago :D
