Recovered thanks to the forum

Hi all - just a quick note to say thanks to everyone and particularly Chupty & Veronese, who both spotted my stolen bikes on Gumtree the day after they were nicked from my shed last week. The Met Police's Cycling Task Force were able to recover one and make an arrest; we'll see if anything comes of it and if they get the other one back but it's already much more than I'd expected.

So there is hope! Sites like this and are making it harder and harder for thieves to sell on -- if not to steal -- our bikes.

    Excellent, glad to hear that. Hope you get the other one back too and the thieving scrote gets what he deserves.

    That's great news! How did you go about getting it back and at what stage did you involve the police? It would be good for other users to know how to successfully recover a stolen bike and hopefully get more arrests.

    great news, was on an IBIS a week or so ago, if so nice to see Gum Tree listen when people flag something up
