Does anyone know of any good tours with bike hire or just bike hire on its own in the Algarve ? British speaking preferably.

Especially around Albufeira would be cool.

    Hi.

I think the people of my usual LBS (Bikeland) provide that kind of services.

They are located near Vale do Lobo / Quinta do Lago but I believe they do "deliveries". :)

"Moreover, the Bikeland van will deliver it all direct to your door free of charge, if required."

is it uplifted riding that you're after or more of an xc experience? if its uplifted then check out www.freerideportugal.com they do rental bikes aswell as guiding and they have English and Portugese guides. The Portugese ones speak English too.

If it's rural Portugal and xc you're after then I guess you can't have any better than Via Algarviana.
Basically you have two marked/mapped paths that cross the Algarve from east to west.

    - Ecovia: Litoral path

    - Via Algarviana: Rural path

Via Algarviana is about 240 kms and crosses the algarve through the country side and mountains. I think there are several guides and gps tracks, although be advised that it's a hard course and usually it takes 3 to 4 days to complete. Of course you can always choose a to do a segment and not the entire thing. :)

I've been thinking doing it but have never gathered the will power to do so. Maybe this year, who knows! :)

    Please take a look at:

    and

If you want any more information, feel free to ask.
