Well, this is what one website calls it. I call it being a nosey bastard. Anyway, is a big disused power station in South Yorskshire called Thorpe Marsh. Had a drive up there with my brother, and just walked straight in! Bloody massive! Actually could get under the towers.

Aye! Are three operational ones about 4 miles apart, and this disused one. The pic second from bottom is Drax which is the biggest.

Great place to make a horror movie or a DJ video with Danny Macaskill

I was just thinking its like what it would be like after a zombie apocalypse.
I've done a bit of urban exploring but mine involved jumping fences and the like, its fun but rather creepy.
    GT Zaskar mmmmm yummy!

    .

Thinking it would be a great site for a paintball game. Man v Zombie, anyone?
How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.

    Cool!
On a similar vein, a mate of mine has some great pictures from Barren Hill on Anglesey.

It's an odd place. It was taken by the millitary during the world war. Then, eventually it was abandoned, and actually forgotten about.
It was "discovered" again a few years ago apparently.
How bizarre that whoever would own a place like that would just forget about it!

Kris has a better grasp of what happened, If you click on the image, it will take you to his Flickr page, where he has more of the story.

Used to go bird-watching at the nature reserve next door to Thorpe Marsh as a kid(circa 1980)Used to bus it from Wickersley to Barnby Dun.
Completely forgot about the place until now!

some of these guys are d*cks though, i mill near my parents is on there, its was being "investigated" by Urban Explorers, got set on fire by some other gimps having a "look" round and 2 kids died. maybe a case of the small minority spoiling it for others but still

if its disused knock it down or fill it with hardcore

dont get me wrong i used to mess around in local mills raand glossip when i was 'lad, but i look back and it was farking daft, i lost the top of one finger on broken glass, and that could have been worse

Hmm, Facebook seems to have stopped telling me when people put pictures up. Annoyingly.
