On the 21st May, “Make Your Move Kirkcaldy” takes place in the Town Square. As a cycling based event it offers the perfect platform for the launch of Middleden Mountain Bike Club, a new community mountain bike club which is aiming to inspire and encourage people into mountain biking; nurture and develop new skills and share a sense of fun and spirit of adventure.
The club is open to all, from those who are completely new to the sport, to more experienced riders who want to develop their biking skills. The club plans to run skills coaching sessions; guided rides; bike maintenance classes; fun races and trips to trails further afield. The club is affiliated with Scottish Cycling and all activities will be led by qualified members.
The club’s activities will be centred around the town’s Middleden Bike Trails. The network of trails were purpose built as a project led by Fife Coast and Countryside Trust and Dunnikier playing fields. The trails offer a variety of riding opportunities from Green through to Red graded. There's currently around 2 miles of trails built by Rik Allsop of Drumlanraig fame.

We’ll be on our stand at the event on the 21st May from 10am so why not come down and find out more about the club or visit our website. We’ll be handing out publicity leaflets and drumming up interest in te club. There’s plenty of photo opportunities with The Clan stunt team putting on a display and opportunities for the public to try out different kinds of bikes.
Hope to see some of you there!
