hi folks
I'm building up my new eaglet piglet and have fitted my crankset from my stump elite it's the 'custom' XT one I'm looking at new front deuralliers but I'm toatally confused as to what I need?!
I've been looking at XT and slx ones at Crc but I don't know what the difference in models is?!

Ive got a triple chain set but don't know if it's compact or not? The clamp width needed is 34.9

Any advice appreciated!
Thanks

:)

    "Derailleur" French for 'derailer'.

Difference between XT and SLX - a few grams in weight.

Make sure you get the right clamp size for your seat tube (or one with the right size adapter), most are 'dual pull' but if its top or bottom pull only, then you need to make sure you get the right one for your cable routing, likewise low or high mount, low mount is technicaly superior (not much in it to be honest) but may foul with bottle mounts on the seat tube.

Depends a lot on the shape of the down tube. The choice you have is either

Where the band is above the mech

    or

Where the band is below the mech.

You will need to look at the frame to detemine which one will fit.
Both are dual pull meaning that the cable can be attached from the above or routed under the bb and attached from below.
