How big is 'not too big'?

I like deuter and vaud with the mesh back. This keeps the bag off your back for much better ventilation. However, I don't think they do this on smaller bags, only 15l and up.

I need a bag of 25l to carry all I want.

Look at some of the Camel back ones - comes with a drinks bag & tube too.

I have the deuter with the air back so doesn't get sweaty, it also came with a good bladder the only problem is that it is now very grubby but bomb proof so no excuse to get something shiny and new. I really like the orprey ones. One thing I do like is the designs that allow air around your back. Hope this helps

I use a Mountainlife 5litre Hydro bag from Mountain Warehouse - if you are after something fairly cheap then take a look http://www.mountainwarehouse.com/travel ... p2615.aspx

It's got enough storage for a pump, tools, spare tube, some food, camera, etc etc, plus the 1.5lt bladder as well.

I use an Osprey Raptor with a 3Ltr bladder. I can highly recommend it.

Camelbak rouge is a perfect size for 2 or 3 hour rides, it also has a vented channel on the back which means in the middle it sits off your back allowing airflow and good ventilation.

I use a karrimor re-fuel 8+2 This years model has an extra pocket. I wouldn't call it a day sack, but the 8 litre pouch is big enough for fuel bars, waterproof, spare tubes, tools, lights, and a first aid kit. The 2 litre bladers are quite large too. Its very comfy.

Don't seem to be able to get them for the £25 quid I paid though?

Only weakness is no easy place to attach things to the outside.

Osprey FTW, I have a MANTA 30, which is small in size but can swallow huge amounts!

I have a camelbak mule, but at £65 they're not cheap for what you get.

dakine apex THE BEST BAG EVER

I can not say that enough, and there are thousands of miles and months of use in 4 continents that back up my arguement

I ride my bike to work as well so transporting a laptop is important to me too. Been looking at the Deuter line - the Gigant, Superbike, Giga and the North Face Borealis. Any ideas on any of these or similar?
