Does anyone have any experience of the above LBS as I am thinking of buying a first road bike there?

Have bought two bikes from there in the past, better shops in Ipswich in my opinion.

I am guessing you are looking at Specialized or Trek if you are going there?

Recently bought three bikes from there and have had good advice/service throughout to date. Even talked me out of buying a more expensive bike as I was advised that an aluminium frame rather than carbon was more than sufficient for a beginner

Thomas's is a good shop, they also stock Wilier as well. But....

Dont overlook Elmy's in (i think) St Helens St.

You are right there it is Elmy in St.Helens Street, good range of bikes and very knowledgable .. just ask for Steve
