Bending the wifes ear to such an extent that I may get the go ahead on a Garmin. Lost the cadence sensor for my cateye computer weeks ago, and since then my training has been guesswork, apart from the numbers from my Polar.
I will use the GPS extensively on holiday, but don't require navigation for my training routes. Which unit will offer the best value, and has anybody used Handtec? Thanks for any advice. :)

Been musing over much the same.

Thing is, I am a beast on cadence. I grind and grind and grind. I don't need a computer telling me what I know I am not doing well.

So I spent £224 earlier on Handtec. Went for the base 705 with HRM and added City Nav maps for the UK and ROI.

Pretty much all I'll ever need I reckon.

So basically a "Nav" pack 705 for £150 less than the 800 nav pack.

Of course, the Handtec 800 may be in stock soon and that's not a bad deal.,

Thanks for help b.t.r. The cadence function is really important for my training as I come from an mtb background where I would chew on big gears for balance. So I guess its a training tool first and nav as a bonus feature I'm after.

Still the same price with cadence if you ignore the maps. Or £248 with the maps. About £150 cheaper than Wiggle's "map performance bundle" 800 version.

Never used the 800 but my 705 is the dog's dangly bits. Wouldn't go anywhere on the bike without it now. Either way you'll be happy with the product
