Should I buy a Garmin?

I'm after a device that you can plan a route on and then use to follow the route whilst out riding.

Edge 800 seems to be what I need. But I have just got a new android smartphone. Are there any apps out there which would allow me to do this, or am I going to have to bite the bullet and get the Edge to do the job properly?

  • Battery life seems the biggest downside of smartphones.

i was in the same dilemma mate... i actually tested a few apps on my iphone and my battery just drained way to quickly. practicall left me with no phone support at all..

i opted and got the garmin edge navigation and performance bundle. all i can say its an amazing bit of kit.... only negative comment is that for the price, i would have expected a much higher res screen. saying that though, it does the job just fine.

oh and navigation on it is a breeze.
