As the title says really. Getting into biking now, got the bug as they say after a loooong time smoking far too much. Doing now in my mid 30's what I should have done in my 20's.
Annyhoo cut to the chase, 8 months ago bought a Specialized Hardrock Disc Sport and have enjoyed it very much, but its time to upgrade. I am looking for a full susser now after my bones have been rattled apart on DH trails, the options are endless as far as I can see, (used to race moto-X and at that time you had 5 choices) so am looking for a pointer in the right direction.
Money to spend: £2k(shhhh dont tell the missus).
Use: Forrest single track. Uphill forest road enevitible (remember my poor lungs).

I like the Ghost AMR 5900, most of the spec means not alot to me but they seem to have a good rep.
I would quite easily spend less if I was going to get a more usable bike for my ability if that is the case.
All advice welcome!!

Thanks

Sonny

    hi mate
i would start again and give your topic a different heading the boys on here are very funny towards ppeople just coming on and just asking for advice put the advice needed in your heading

and also in my opinion you need to ride your hardtail a bit more as you want just become a better rider because youve spent £2k
ive had mine 18mths and iam tempted to get 1 but iam still learning to ride my hardtail properley soaking up bumps smoother lines etc

    cheers paul

  • I have never ridden one, but those Canyons are pretty unreal for spec.

I gotta Specialized Camber and really love it, so you could look at that too

I like Marin's, the quad link helps with climbing, rough or smooth. Angles have changed over the last few years, making them more relaxed and stable downhill.

I've got a 09 mount vision frame and it is a big improvement over the 04-5 MV I had before.

Not sure what marin bikes cost though. ATB sales should have more info.
