I have a Dura ace 7800 chainset with a 53/39 setup. Is it possible to fit a 50t outer ring to this crankarm ?

Been using a friends bike for a few weeks fitted witha 50T outer ring and now know that a 53T outer ring is far too big for me to turn. Anybody made this switch? Looking for a suitable chain ring that will be something similar to the Dura ace in terms of looks and quality.

Thanks.

Look at Stronglight CT2 (you'll need to look for 130 BCD)
However you could just get a cassette with more range...

Yes, 50t 130 BCD chainring will fit just nicely.

I think the smallest that you can go for the inner with 130 BCD is 38t.

Ribble have some rings at good prices (although poss crap service, but ime not too bad recently, as do CRC, pretty good but I pay paypal just in case nowadays), stronglight tend to be pretty good rings.

I've just put a stronglight 50 on mine, from Ribble, but I've gone for the track 1/8 pitch, as I'm only running one gear. I'm sure they do a 3/32 50.

    Yep, there you go...
