Hey,

I understand the use of carbon paste on carbon-carbon surfaces which are going to be clamped (seatposts etc) but what about Carbon steerer to carbon headtube... Surely minimal friction and non abrasive grease is required, does this mean std grease? (i have Finish Line Sythetic Bike Grease, and Finish line fibre grip??)

The headset provides the interface between steerer and head tube.

no grease on a carbon steerer it should be clean and dry to start.

If you find you are having issues with your stem torquing to recommended values against the steerer and still coming loose etc you can try carbon paste which would allow a lower torque setting be applied and hence not be so at risk of crushing/cracking the steerer by cranking up the torque.
