Dura Ace 7800 - Ultegra 6700

I've converted my TT bike to single gear, and now have some Dura-Ace bits kicking around, whilst my road bike is predominantly Ultegra 6700 - I can't remember (and frankly am too lazy to look around) if I can use the 7800 front and rear mechs with the 6700 shifters?
Any views?

The shimano docs say no. I've got no personal experience though.0

Rear mech yes.
Front one is officially no (however I have just setup a bike with 5700 shifters and 5600 f&r mechs) so the answer is more like probably with a bit of fiddling.0 -
I run 7900 shifters with 7800 mechs just like the poster above- new style front end and old style mechs. Works fine, better than it did with 6600 shifters originally. Go for it.My classifieds feedback thread for reference

Thanks chaps, I'll give it a whizz.
Shame to have Dura Ace sitting in the bits box...
Anyway, what can possibly go wrong0
