yep sorry its not very rad to the power of extreme but its the best I could manage. I was trying to give it some beans hence the few falls.

cooldad - give a watch even if its just for watching the falls and laughing at me

Even the crashes are rubbish, no blood, no bones sticking out.

sorry im still relatively a noob at riding, still working on impaling my self on a branch. I've only just learnt how to graze my knee.

the trail is in Whippendale woods in Watford.

Well, you put it on the internet expecting feedback, so here it is.
Crap. Boring riding, boring looking trail, music adds nothing to it.

Why did you think it was worthy of wasting anyone's time? If you're doing it as a project for yourself, great. But there's no need to stick it on the internet, where there are ultimately far better things we could have wasted our lives watching.

Liked it... the framing of many of the shots was very good, the tracking shots worked really well (you have a glidetrack?) and I really liked the balance between the 'riding' and the 'setting'... reminded me of a recent atmospheric ride through some bluebell woods near my home. In fact the only bit I didn't like was the use of fade to black dissolve/cut which did not work for me at all. Good work... post up the next one when you've done it!

Sorry if you didn't like it Yehaa. The trail is not as technical as the trails you have in Wales but I still think its fun and interesting to ride. its also very scenic. I quite like twisty flowing woodland single track. I also think the music works well helping to set a nice chilled out theme but I guess music is a very personal thing. The terrain is not very knarly and my average riding skills were never going to make it the most exciting video so we choose to go for a chilled out, happy go lucky theme which I think we pulled off quite well.

Thanks for the positive comments Bartimaeus. No glide track, just a steady hand.

I quite like flowy singletrack. Might have to take a drive up one day.

You're most welcome to pop up over here. Its no where near as big a Swinley which I would imagine is your local. Its fine for spending a couple hours but might get repetitive after that.

Yeah Swinley is just a few minutes ride away so easy, but ride Surrey Hills mainly.
A new bit of scenery is always good though.

i quite liked that, i thought it looked pretty well shot and although im not inspired to go and ride there, i thought you did a decent job.

i did think you looked like you could afford to be in a higher gear all the time though, you seemed to be spinning the cranks like mad but not getting anywhere.

    Sweet video

Didn't like the music, but the framing of the shots and the clean edit was excellent particularly if that was your first vid :)

    7/10

Music ruined it and the almost flat terrain didn't do the video much justice either..

I'm crap at this stuff. Got a Helmet Hero cam for Christmas and still can't get it to link to my PC. Do I have to do something like download some software or what? Good effort even making a vid if you ask me!

Quite enjoyed it. Liked the falls too. Def need to select different gears though. You were spinnng like mad and no speed was being picked up. You'll have more control in the right gear too, tp accelerate out of trouble :-)
  • The music made me fall asleep.. I slipped off my hand (I was resting on) and faceplanted it into the keyboard, I think I broke my nose..

    Thanks!

Very arty - Not bad "Shooting" - Nuff said!

I liked it, were you using filters to get all those different colour effects?

thanks for the comments. next time we'll choose a different genre of music.

Yeah I was spinning out on the gears a bit, the drive train was very dirty and wouldn't change well so I stayed single speed for most of it, thought it was the better compromise .

The final editing was done by my mate (and music choice), I can ask him more info on the filters used if needed. It was shot on a pretty basic consumer camcorder so there is definitely some filtering going to give the saturated colour look but Im not sure what. We also filmed it on 2 separate days and the light was very different so some balancing was needed.
