Has anyone got tips on maximising sponsorship?

I am doing a solo bike ride from John O to Lands E on my road singlespeed on the 4th June 2011.
I am raising money for CLIC Sargent
I am starting to get sponsorship from Facebook friends, twitter, work colleagues etc but I want to maximise my sponsorship
Anyone got any tips?

    good luck , plenty of steep gradients coming through cornwall, you might wish you had gears :D

    blimey!!! Im doing leigh,lancs to cromer,Norfolk and back! But yours is massive! A few ideas im doing at the moment is any shops you go to alot and are friendly with the staff,ask them to promote your sponsership. If your on good terms with your bank manager they may do something towards your cause. If you have children i would approach the school and ask them to promote it by giving each pupil a form 2 give 2 parents 4 sponsership. And let the local paper know what you are doing and that should get some response too...

    Have you asked your employer if they will do matched-fundraising. A lot of employers do and it's good PR for them.

    Get naked or offer your sponsors something in return.

    For hitting my target drunk mates got to have a go at waxing my legs with crude strips from tesco and no, I don't make a habit of doing it ever.

    Don't just stick to internet mithering as FB, Twitter etc are completely saturated with this.

    I'd do some promotional type events at work etc...
