Hi

Was looking at getting a "repair" manual, there appear to be a few:

The DK Bicycle Repair Manual
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bicycle-Repair- ... 0756602955

The Haynes Manual
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bike-Book-Fred- ... pd_sim_b_2

Do you have any recommendations based on your experiances??

Thanks for your help

    Lennard Zinn

I've got Zinn & The Art Of Road Bike Maintenance and I've found it invaluable.

I've also got the Haynes Manual and, at best, it's an overview for people buying their first bike.

The Park Tools Blue Books always get good reviews.
  • +1 for the Zinn books - both for the Road and Mountain bike. Wouldn't be without mine.

    The internet.

Constantly updated, and nearly always able to find a video of some helpful chap doing the job you're contemplating. Park Tools website is very handy, as is Bicycle Tutor.

And since you have the pc running you can also order the tool you just found you'll be needing, or a replacement for the component you've just broken / stripped / lost somewhere on the garage floor.

I got loads of books 15 years ago when I returned to cycling, and apart from fixing punctures they are now completely out of date!

I have been using the interwb, however in the garage my oily/greesy fingers get my iphone dirty!!

Was thinking of trying to go old school hence the books.

    Cheers so far

I've been using a combination of "The Big Blue book of bicycle repair" by Park tools and also this site

    http://bicycletutor.com/

It has loads of step by step tutorials accompanied by clear and easy to follow videos.

as a complete newb to a road bike the park tools book made adjusting my gears really easy
