Having pedaled my trusty 531 framed touring bike for the last 30 years and my, equally trusty, 531 framed touring tandem for twenty, I am looking for something a little more responsive and am torn between the Cube Attempt and the Trek 2.1. They have very similar specs and prices but with three perhaps significant differences:

Wheels Fulcrum 7 with Schwalbe Ultremo tyres on the Cube; Bontrager SSR with some Bontrager tyre on the Trek.
CablesInterior routing on the Cube, normal exterior on the Trek.
Warranty Frame 5 yrs on the Cube, life on the Trek.

My age - 60
Terrain - Rather hilly SW Normandy
Max daily mileage - Century (approx)

Any advice gratefully received
