I plan to ride Mt Ventoux on July 14 and 15 before going on to Italy for two weeks of riding around Riccione. I plan to ride out of Sault. Has anyone stayed in the town and can you recommend a hotel? I am going to a rent bicycle from Albion Cycles. Does anyone have any experience with this shop? Thanks, hope to hear from you before I make the final reservations

Any reason for staying in Sault? Have you done Ventoux before? - you don't need me to tell you that Bedoin is the place to stay and do the ride up from, of the three climbs the Sault one is definitely the least impressive/enjoyable.

This will be my first visit. I found the bike shop via a search. I decided on this route as a first day route because it seemed most doable, bike shop was in the same town, and I could try a different route the second day. I will search more on Bedoin as I have found a shop there as well. Thanks

Thanks. I did contact Veloventoux and got an immediate response. They will take care of everything so I am going with them. I will post on my experience when I return home in August
  • Not to hijack, but anyone know of cyclist friendly mid-market hotels that would be a good base for a few days and a Ventoux assault?

A rather late update but I did stay with the folks at Veloventoux. Great service, nice people, wonderful Scott bike, and stunning routes. I have relocated to the US so I am not sure when I might be able to go again but I will find a way back
