Problem Fitting New Tyres

Hello Forumites,

I am having a problem fitting new tyres to my new wheels.

The tyres (Schwalbe Marathon) are 700 x 25 and the tubes (also new) are 700 x 19/25

Everything is fine, until I pump them up over 60lb when they tyre lifts and the bead pops
over the rim. It's always happens where the valve is located.

The tyres were very easy to fit over the rims and took ages to seat as they were always unseating as I moved around the rim.

It's almost as if the tyres were too big.

All helpful suggestions and amusing pisstakes welcome.

Z.

These tyres are notoriously difficult to fit - Spa Cycles even has a 'how to' video to show you how to get Marathons onto a rim. You may well be unique if you've managed to find a correctly sized rim that they are loose on!

    Thanks Rolf,

I looked at the video, fitted the tyres in the smae way and all seems well. Pumped them up to around 100lbs and the tyres are still in place.

Fingers crossed that they stay that way.

    Kind regards
