Is the thin white tubing that comes with these Teflon? Does it help?

    Not sure what it is - plastic with a teflon coating inside?

    Works grand for me, I love them (with Sram red on the Wilier)

    Yes the inner goes all the way, it's what keeps the crap out. Well worth the money to IMO, especially on a winter bike.
