Damn it.

My single shot plus finally gave up the ghost on the way home Monday evening. I pulled it to adjust it up and the clip finally gave way.

After reading about all the quick failures on here I was feeling very pleased with mine lasting as long as it did (more than 2 Winters) but it's now an expensive torch

Methinks I'll treat myself to a Hope Vision 1 to go with the Vision 2 now (or maybe a 4.... )

unfortunately not - the moulded clip on the base that slides into the bar mount has snapped on one side. It's only a small section that actually holds the light on and it's gone.

    Mount like this?

They unscrew, and are available as spares.

That photo is of the revised design of bracket, which looks stronger and has the screw hole in a different place.
My first one was like this:

I returned it to Wiggle and got an immediate replacement with the new bracket type. It's in its 2nd year with no problems.
Don't tell them you "pulled it to adjust it up" though.

...my bracket didn't fail... the light failed, just packed up...it was about 2 years old...anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
...all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...

Oh, right - and Cateye tend to have 2 year warranties on their front lights, so if it's done two winters, it might be worth checking out.

Did you try taking it apart? Mine used to get a bit erratic and the problem was usually that it was full of water. The seal around the switch is not perfect, and if you nip the seal around the lens it can leak there too.
Also sometimes after charging it seems to be dead, but replug and unplug the charger and it is fine again.
Re-reading this, maybe I shouldn't have said my light has had no problems.

That's why I gave up on Cat Eye and switched to a Fenix torch strapped on with a velcro Lokblok thing. I lost too many Cat Eye lights because after extensive daily use, the plastic bracket would get weak then the light would fly off into traffic and get run over.
