I just wanted to check what people think of these roads for cycling? I'm thinking of going from Hawarden to Llangollen via the A550, then onto the A5104 at Penyffordd, and then over the Horseshoe pass into Llangollen. I imagine a lot of it will be busy, but will it be okay for cycling>?
Thanks in advance

p.s. if not, are there any suggested B-roads I could take? Looking at the map it seems avoiding A-roads is quite tricky without making it too circuitous!

Is that the same A500 to Stoke? I don't like riding on it.

Don't know the short bit of the A550 from Hawarden to Penymynedd but the rest of the roads are fine for riding on.

One of my routes from my mum and dad's is from Chester to Hope then the steps to Minera and World's End to Lllangolen. I come back the way you have suggested.

From the Eureka Cafe at Two Mills going over World's End and back up the Horseshoe was one of my favourite rides in my youth. highly recommended, though cannot vouch for the road surface on World's End.

Best bits; after climbing World's End going through the forest crossing over the stream, and the fast bit after the 3rd bend up to the cafe on the Horseshoe.

    Try it, you'll like it!
