Cheap Workstand?

Anyone know of a decent but cheap workstand? Been looking at what is called the Halfords Storage and Maintenance Stand for 11.99. Any suggestions?

if you have a "workmate" type tingy a piece of 4x2 with a hook clamp scxrewed to it and clamped in the jaws works well. somebody on cyclechat made one and it looked really good.knew i should have saved the page in favourittes

that sounds interesting and I have been thinking along those lines. I think the cost of a decent workstand borders on been ridiculous.

I like it but its the money. This one at Halfords cost only £13 and my budget right now is at £20. I might just sit and wait until I have the money. It's just that with two bikes its a bit of a bother doing cleaning and work.

I have one of these and it was rated by BR as very good, I can vouch for that.

You really need one that allows you to "stand" and work not kneel on the floor.

If the halfords one is the one that just lifts the back wheel up, then it's a bit crap, to be honest. Worth keeping an eye out for when Aldi/lidl do the workstands. They are cheap, but very good for the price.

Thats just great! I am a stone throw from an Aldi store (hence the thread on Aldi clothes http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12773915). I will keep a look out for it.

That was a great idea jeremyrundle had a look at the ebay clamp. The other is a bit too much for me right now but certainly down in the year.
