Hi
I have been cycling for nearly a year on a crosstrail expert but now being totally addicted I am looking to buy a road bike. I have learnt a lot about components and bikes and am looking to spend up o £1200 . Should I buy the bianchi via nirone veloce or should I be looking at something else at that price . Could I get something better for that money. I like the look of it and with my limited knowledge the components seem ok. Before anyone suggests trying them out first that goes without saying.

Thanks

I have a Via Nirone and I love it, but I don't think I'd pay £1200 for the current Veloce model as many websites seem to be asking. Bianchis got a lot more expensive this year - it may be worth looking for a 2010 Veloce (e.g. this one - http://www.dryburghcycles.co.uk/products/Bianchi-Via-Nirone-7-Alu-Veloce-10sp-Compact-2010-Road-Bike.html - not sure how easy they are to track down though).

If I was buying a new alu bike at around £1200, I'd find it hard to look beyond the CAAD10 (if I could get hold of one...)

£1200 buys you a Planet X, Ribble or Boardman carbon bike with a high level of components.

both myself and a mate bought the full carbon 928 C2C bianchi for £1375, after shopping around to see who had last years models left over they wanted to get rid of quickly, worthwhile making lots of calls to dealers on the bianchi website dealer dtabase, i'm sure you'll get a better deal/bike for your money
