DId anyone watch the new series of Richard Hammond's engineering connections last night? I missed it but just watched it on i player. Really interesting program, I find how things work and solutions to problems fascinating, prob because i'm a bit sad! Especially liked the water fountains at the end :D
Bikes are OK, I guess... :-)

No exploding caravans, but there was a burning shed.

Add English to your list of 'how things work' and I will love you forever! :)

OK program but a bit dummed down.

For example, to stop the hotel burning down they turned to camera flashes....

Well not really, capacitors are just standard electronic equipment, I'm sure they didn't think of camera flashes to work out how to stop hot wires!!

oh noes! I abreviated the word probably. Any other issues with my English? That's what we need on this forum, more grammar police

I thought it a bit odd that they talked about dimmers. Dimmers have been around for years, they weren't invented for that hotel! Same with the revolving door. I thought it was going to talk about specific engineering solutions that were thought up for that hotel. Sadly not.

    I quite liked it though.
It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

You could always put a capital letter on the word 'Oh' at the start of the sentence, and a full stop after 'police'. :D

  • Yeah, you need a verb for it to make any sense.

I am shocked by the standards of grammar amongst today's old people.
