I've just witnessed the sickening site of a top rider, Woulter Weylandt, a Belgium sprinter from team Leopard Trek be killed as a result of a heavy fall on stage 3 of the Giro. He was 26.

It brings it home how much these guys are on the limit every day.

I know this may not be the correct place to post this, but I read in here alot and needed to write something.

This is a dangerous sport. So ride safely and be aware of whats out there.

Deepest sympathy goes out to all his friends and family.

Unfortunately I was watching live today - it was very disturbing when they zoomed in on him. Really hope none of his family were watching at the time. RIP
